Close client relationships boost business for Apex Security – Orlando Business Journal

World Class Security Services

Jill Murphy, CEO of Apex Security, Inc. goes above and beyond the call of duty to ensure her teams in the field are always on their toes.

There’s a big reason why Apex Security provides you with world class security services right here in your own backyard in Central and North Florida. It’s because according to Jill Murphy, nothing else is acceptable.

Jill recently said, “The Security Officer industry is not just about a security guard in a uniform or gate attendant or courtesy officer patrolling a site — it’s about service, customer service.” She believes one of the most important qualities in Apex Security’s officers is their attitude and the motivated manner in which they perform their duties. And as a minority business owner she knows she has to be that much better than anyone else at providing exceptional service to every client.

You may be surprised to hear that she regularly drives around to Apex Security’s sites incognito to test her Officers in the field. For example, she’ll throw on a hat and sunglasses and borrow a different car and drive up to a gatehouse and try to get into the community where she’s not a registered resident. Not only does she judge the officer on their dedication to keeping the community safe, but also how much courtesy and respect they provide. If they don’t pass the test then they are replaced within the hour.

From her commitment, every client can rest assured that Apex Security has what the competition doesn’t — a 100% commitment to world class service 24/7 365.

Apex Security has a Perfect Record

All security guard agencies that operate in the State of Florida are regulated under the Florida Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services. Apex Security is proud of our perfect record. In our 8 years of doing business we have never been in violation of State guidelines and have never been fined. This should be the industry standard, but unfortunately a significant number of Florida agencies can’t claim a clean record.

Many large statewide and nationwide security guard companies have a surprising number of violations, suspensions, and fines against them by the State. What does that say about their work in general?

Our commitment to diligent operation practices and to following all guidelines and regulations under statute 493 is one small part of our dedication to providing the best service in the industry.

You can view the Department of Agriculture newsletter to read the latest security industry news and also see who has been fined or had their licensed revoked for not following state guidelines.

Pursuant to Section 493.6123, Florida Statutes, the Division of Licensing is required to publish the name and locality of any licensed or unlicensed person or agency against
whom an administrative complaint has been filed and a final order has been issued.

Proper Protocol and Better Security on Apex's Watch

Our team takes pride in work we do to ensure the highest level of security and customer service for our clients in the Central and North Florida Communities. And sometimes we like to share specific examples of why you may want to consider us for your security officer needs.

Recently, at a local community our Apex Gate Staff enforced a restraining order and kept a resident safe from her former boyfriend. At another community one of our Officers was offered a bribe of $500.00 to let him onto the property…ACCESS DENIED.

Controlling access to a community is serious work. Apex Officers go through extensive training before manning a Gatehouse and strict Post Orders are drawn up by Apex Management for each Gatehouse. Each and every community is different with different needs and we understand that. Having the expertise and insight of the operation of a Gatehouse is critical to ensure the residents that their visitors not only feel welcome but also feel safe. We are proud of our professional staff and the service they provide our clients. Contact us for your gatehouse and patrol security officer needs today to experience the highest level of security and a better level of customer service today.

Security During the Holidays? Priceless.

A message from Jill Murphy, CEO of Apex Security and Convention Services:

We here at Apex are bringing you holiday cheer, and security!

This year, Apex Officers are providing extra security at local shopping malls by escorting customers to their vehicles after hours. Feeling and being safe in a parking lot means a lot for local commerce and we were happy to be a part of it.

Additionally, Apex Officers are providing loss prevention at many stores and parking lots were patrolled to assist shoppers and keep them safe and deter vehicle break ins.

I have worked in the Security Industry for over 25 years and would like to offer some advice to help you, your family and friends stay safe and sound during this busy holiday season. While there is usually an increase of crime during the holiday season, there are many things we can do to reduce our risks and exposure.

1) When getting in/out of your vehicle, keep your finger on the panic button.
2) When pumping gas, turn off your car, take out your keys, keep your finger on the panic button, and lock all doors except for the driver’s door.
3) Keep your purse, laptop and all valuables out of sight while in your vehicle. Use your trunk! If you don’t have one, use a blanket.
4) If someone approaches you while you are in your vehicle roll your window down only a ½ an inch, never roll your window all the down.
5) We all like to wear jewelry, try to keep it covered while in public spaces. Don’t advertise.
6) Be aware of your surroundings at all times while in public spaces. When you are on the phone or using your blackberry while you’re walking through a parking lot, you are an easy target.
7) When your home, keep your doors locked at all times.
8) If you have a garage, use it park your vehicle inside but stay aware until the door closes completely.
9) Do not open your door for unexpected visitors or service people. Talk through the door first. Be sure before you open the door!
10) If there is ever a time you feel threatened in a situation start screaming and draw attention to yourself!
